Regional District Office or RDO code is a three-digit alphanumeric code assigned to each RDO in the country.
Usually, you want to know your RDO code if you transferring or living in another city or working in another company after your resignation. HR will normally ask you to provide a BIR stamp 1905 form.
The BIR 1905 form is usually used if there are any changes in the following:
- Civil Status (Single to Married)
- Address
- RDO Code
- Transfer of RDO
- Employer
The purpose of the RDO code is to easily track the amount of tax collection within a particular region and record and process tax returns, tax payments, and withholding taxes.
Each working Filipino citizen paying taxes has to be assigned with the correct RDO code when you plan for TIN and start working whether in a public or private company.
This blog post will be quick and short just to outline how to know your RDO code online.

01 of 04Rule of Thumb
The rule of BIR is, your RDO code should always be the residence where you are currently living. For example, if your province is in Bataan, but you’re currently working and living in Sta. Mesa, Manila has an RDO of 039.
There are two ways to know your RDO code online. I’ll be giving you the option to choose which one suits you best.
02 of 04Check my RDO Code Via TIN Verifier App
You can use the official BIR TIN verifier app to know your RDO code which is available in AppStore and Google Play Store. Note that this is only for inquiries related to your TIN and RDO, so any other complaints will not be entertained. Go to your nearest BIR branch if you have other concerns.

Just follow the steps in the TIN Verifier app and an agent will attend to your inquiry as long as you provided all correct details base on their records. Once it’s verified, you’ll get something like this as a response.

I would recommend you conduct your TIN verification in the morning due to the long queue. Once an agent is assigned you can proceed in providing the details being asked to you.
03 of 04Check my RDO Code via Email RDO Officer
Another way you can know your RDO code is to email the RDO officer assigned to your area. If you’re currently living in Sta. Mesa, Manila, you can email the RDO officer (rdo_32css@bir.gov.ph). When emailing the RDO officer, provide your complete name, TIN number, current address, and attached one valid government ID.
The response could take longer though this is not usually monitored due to the number of emails received every day. Only use this option if you have enough time and could wait longer.
Based on my experience they have taken at least a week before I received a reply from the RDO officer.
For the complete lists of RDO officer contact details, hotline and jurisdiction, you can visit the BIR official lists of RDO codes on this link.
04 of 04Conclusion
Updating your personal records on BIR is not made easier since you can submit now the form online. Another alternative and the traditional way is to go to the nearest RDO branch and proceed to the counter. The only downside is the long line during weekdays especially the RDO office is in a business district like Makati or Taguig.
